Burton Albion FC has announced the signing of Mark O'Mahony on a season-long loan from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion. The Irish forward joins after spending the first half of the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Reading, where he made 16 appearances.
O'Mahony's Career Path
O'Mahony began his career at Cork City in Ireland, making his senior debut in the Irish Premier Division at age 17. After 13 appearances for Cork City, he moved to England to join Brighton & Hove Albion's academy.
Following an impressive 2023/24 campaign with Brighton's under-21s side, O'Mahony made his Premier League debut in the 1-1 draw away at Burnley in April 2024. He went on to make three further first-team appearances for the Seagulls.
The forward was loaned to Portsmouth for the 2024/25 Championship season, where he scored three times in 13 appearances. He then moved to Reading for the first half of this campaign before returning to Brighton.

International Experience
O'Mahony is a Republic of Ireland youth international, earning 15 caps since making his debut in March 2024 against San Marino. He scored and set up a goal in a 3-2 win over Sweden under-21s, providing the assist for Jamie Mullins' opener and scoring the match-winning goal himself.
