More than 40 performances have been announced for The Brewhouse Arts Centre in Burton between this autumn and Christmas.

Comedians Milton Jones, Seann Walsh, Mark Watson and Rich Hall are among the national names in the new programme. Other live appearances include Shaun Ryder, cyclist and mountaineer Simon Yates, Psychic Sally, Alex McAleer and Bagga Chipz MBE.

Music and theatre

The music schedule ranges from Burton performers and a Sonic Boom Festival Aftershock show to Fairport Convention, The D-Day Darlings and tribute productions celebrating David Bowie, ABBA and Pink Floyd.

Theatre highlights include Of Mice and Men, The Haunted Bride, Scarred for Life: A Midsummer Folk Horror Special and a screening of The Cabinet of Dr Caligari with live musical accompaniment.

Family and festive shows

Family performances include The Ultimate Bubble Show and Wind in the Willows. The venue’s Christmas production, Robyn and the Book Monster, will use puppetry, shadow play and storytelling in a show created by Babbling Vagabonds.

The Brewhouse also plans to host local theatre companies, dance schools and community groups during the season. Councillor Paul Walker said the programme combined touring performers with artists and groups from Burton.
