Kamil Dudek, Burton Albion's 21-year-old Polish goalkeeper, has signed a new three-year contract with the Brewers this week. The deal keeps him at the club until at least 2029, marking his longest contract with Burton Albion to date.

Speaking about the extension, Dudek said: "I'm buzzing with it, it's something that's been in the works for a couple of months so it's good to get it done. It's a very proud feeling for both me and my family, we've already been out to celebrate it with a nice meal."

Dudek joined Burton Albion's academy at the end of under-16 level after eight years with Port Vale's academy. He was given a two-year scholarship at Burton and was the only goalkeeper at that stage, allowing him to gain early playing experience in league and cup competitions.

Early Career Milestones

The shot-stopper made his professional debut against Tranmere Rovers in a penalty shootout victory. On 13 September 2025, he made his Sky Bet League One debut in a 1-0 defeat to Lincoln City.

Reflecting on that appearance, Dudek said: "I didn't see it coming. It was one of them where I'd only found out two days before, so it was a case of processing it and going into the game knowing I could do it. The game itself, we were unlucky not to win, and I thought I had a pretty good game, which was such a boost in confidence."

He has since featured in several competitions for the club, including the Carabao Cup against Crewe Alexandra and a Jersey Mike's Trophy penalty shootout victory over Grimsby Town.

Learning from Experience

Goalkeeping Coach Jake Kean has played a key role in Dudek's development since his move to the first team. Dudek said: "He's been brilliant. He's such a support to me. He's done so well to teach me all the little things in the game that, naturally, you might miss."

Dudek has also learned from fellow goalkeepers Max Crocombe, Brad Collins and Corey Addai. He praised each for their different strengths: "They're all top professionals, but Max especially would come into the gym so early and always be ready to train. Corey is such a confident player, and you can see that from how his teammates in front of him react. Brad was so laid back that he didn't really let anything faze him."

On his penalty shootout performances, Dudek added: "It's funny because my name everyone jokes about. Once you have one good shootout, you know you've got that knack for saving them under pressure. It's just a coincidence that I've been in so many shootouts so far, but I really enjoy them and I'm hoping there's more to come."
