A free cost-of-living support event will bring advice services together at Burton Town Hall on Wednesday 23 September 2026.

The drop-in session, jointly hosted by East Staffordshire Borough Council and Jacob Collier MP, will run from 10am until noon at the town hall on King Edward Place. No booking is required.

Residents will be able to ask local organisations about financial support and benefits, energy bills, household essentials, housing, employment and skills, mental health and wellbeing, community services and support for families.

Councillor Simon Slater, the council’s cabinet member for communities and regulatory services, said the event was intended to make it easier for residents to access several forms of support in one place.

Jacob Collier MP said rising food, fuel and energy costs were affecting people across Burton and Uttoxeter, and encouraged anyone struggling to speak to the organisations attending.

The council says contact details for participating organisations will be shared after the event for residents who cannot attend.
