Burton Albion has completed the signing of 22-year-old striker Gbemi Arubi from Dundalk on a three-year deal with an optional additional year. The centre forward arrives after impressing in the Irish top flight this season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists.
Arubi is a Republic of Ireland youth international, having made his debut for the under-21s in their 2-2 draw with Croatia.
Manager and Director Welcome New Recruit
Head Coach Gary Bowyer said: "We're really pleased to have Gbemi in the building with us. He's a young striker with a lot of potential and we're really looking forward to working with him every day to help him develop as a player."
Sporting Director Richard Dorman added that Arubi "has impressed for both club and country in Ireland" and the club looks forward to giving him "the opportunity to reach the next level."
Career Path to Burton
Arubi began his career at Cherry Orchard before joining Shelbourne, where he made his professional debut as an 18-year-old in the Leinster Senior Cup. He subsequently played for Waterford and won the Munster Senior Cup during the 2024 season. At Dundalk, he helped the club win the First Division title and the Leinster Senior Cup.
