Burton Albion retained the Bass Charity Vase with a 1-0 victory over Derby County at the Pirelli Stadium. Tyrese Shade scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot in the 11th minute after winning the kick himself when he was brought down by Filip Bilbija while attempting to collect a rebound.
First Half Dominance
The home side dominated the opening period after a bright start. Shade had already forced an early chance when his strike from the edge of the box was blocked, before Kalinauskas' strong effort was parried by Derby keeper Jacob Zetterstrom.
Second Half Drama
Derby pressed in the second half with chances falling to Carlton Morris and Joe Ward, but Burton's defence held firm. Late opportunities to extend the lead came and went, with Kyran Lofthouse and substitute Millar Matthews-Lewis both going close.
