Burton Albion travel to Leicester City on Saturday 22 August for matchday two of the Sky Bet League One season, kicking off at 15:00. Both sides drew their opening fixtures — Burton held Stevenage to a 1-1 draw at the Pirelli Stadium, whilst Leicester also conceded late on to draw 1-1 away at Notts County.

Albion Squad Updates

Head Coach Gary Bowyer has bolstered his squad this week with two new additions. Emeka Adiele has arrived on loan from FC Utrecht and Harvey Araujo has joined from Fulham. Both players are available for selection, along with recent signing Will Collar.

Bowyer confirmed that injured players Kain Adom and TK Kalinauskas will not return for Saturday. Adom is recovering from a broken leg and has picked up niggles along the way, whilst Kalinauskas is close to running again after a training injury. Tyrese Shade has trained all week and Bowyer will assess his condition before deciding on involvement.

The Burton manager expects a strong atmosphere at Filbert Way. "I'm guessing it's going to be a sell out from their end, it's a local derby and we've got a good number of away supporters going," Bowyer said. "The lads and the supporters were all in it together last Saturday, the task is now to go and do it again this weekend at a fantastic stadium."

Leicester's Form and Squad

Leicester City manager Russell Martin felt his side needed more cutting edge in possession following the Notts County draw but praised the performances of his younger players. Academy graduates Will Alves and Sammy Braybrooke both returned from loan spells and played a key part in setting up fellow academy graduate Jayden Joseph for their opening goal.

Nine Leicester players could make their home debuts on Saturday. Wes Burns and Conor Chaplin both joined from Ipswich Town this summer — the pair won promotion from League One with the Tractor Boys in 2022/23.
