A free women’s cycling group in Burton has received a new adapted bike to help more people take part in its weekly sessions.
Sustainable Building Services donated the Tom Cat bike to the group, which is run through a partnership between Everyone Active and housing provider Trent & Dove.
The bike is designed for adults with mobility challenges. The group meets on the cycling track at Shobnall Leisure Complex and is now in its fourth year.
Free Monday sessions
Sessions take place every Monday from 10am to noon. A range of bikes, trikes and helmets is provided.
Trent & Dove says the group welcomes dozens of women and has developed into a supportive community, with members building friendships and celebrating milestones together.
Rachael Hughes, Trent & Dove’s Head of Customer and Communities, thanked Sustainable Building Services for the donation and its continuing partnership with the housing provider.
The contractor also works with Trent & Dove on improvements to make homes more energy efficient.
