Burton Albion head coach Gary Bowyer has been nominated for September's Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month award. He is shortlisted alongside Bradford City's Graham Alexander, Wycombe Wanderers' Tom Hounsell and Reading's Leam Richardson.

What the award recognises

The award panel cited Bowyer's "steady building work at Burton" in the nomination. The club navigated the summer sale of strikers Jake Beesley and Tyrese Shade without losing momentum, adapting to a new 3-4-3 formation that added pace in wide areas.

Burton accumulated eight points from five games in September, including a victory at promotion-chasing Plymouth.

When the winner is announced

The award winner will be revealed on Friday morning.
