Burton Town Hall will host the final National Breweriana Auction on Saturday 24 October, bringing a long-running fixture in the town’s brewing calendar to a close.

Organised by the Campaign for Real Ale, the event will feature around 150 lots, alongside stands selling brewery memorabilia. Items include mirrors, trays, advertising signs, water jugs, bottles, books and pump clips.

Burton brewing history among the lots

The organisers’ selection includes pieces connected with Bass and Worthington, including a Worthington Mayor jug, a match holder and brewery leaflets.

CAMRA says this will be the last national auction after four decades of the event. Visitors can browse the stands and watch the auction without needing to be experienced collectors.

When and where

The auction takes place at Burton Town Hall, King Edward Place, Burton upon Trent, DE14 2EB. Doors open at 10.30am for viewing, with bidding starting at noon.

Entry is by catalogue, priced at £3 on the day according to the supplied release. Advance postal catalogue sales have now closed, but CAMRA’s event listing confirms that visitors can pay on the door.

The venue is wheelchair accessible. Further information is available on the official CAMRA event page.
