Burton upon Trent’s Remembrance parade will take place on Sunday 8 November, with residents invited to watch or join the commemorations.
East Staffordshire Borough Council says the parade will form at Burton Library car park from 9.30am and leave at 9.50am, led by the 351 (Burton upon Trent) Squadron drum corps.
It will travel along High Street into Market Place for a 10am Service of Remembrance at St Modwen’s Parish Church. Anyone attending the service without joining the parade is asked to be seated by 9.50am.
An Act of Remembrance, including wreath laying, will follow at the war memorial on Lichfield Street at 10.55am.
The parade will then reform and return along High Street towards the library car park, taking the salute outside the former Barclays bank on the corner of Station Street. Refreshments and awards by the Mayor will follow at Market Hall.
Mayor of East Staffordshire Councillor Monica Holton said: “For more than 100 years, residents in Burton upon Trent have paraded in memory of fallen service men and women.”
She invited residents to support the veterans, armed forces, cadets, schools and organisations taking part.
These timings were supplied in East Staffordshire Borough Council’s 4 November news release.
