Burton Albion FC welcomed 247 young players from grassroots teams to the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday 3 October for the club's first official Grassroots Day of the season. The free matchday event, sponsored by stadium partners Pirelli, brought players and their parents or guardians to watch The Brewers face Huddersfield Town. Twenty different grassroots clubs affiliated with the Burton Albion Community Trust were represented.
Finn Delap scored during the match, adding his third goal of the season to the scoreline.
Bringing Young Fans to the Stadium
Jodie Carter, Burton Albion's Supporter Liaison Officer, said: "A big thank you to Pirelli for sponsoring another successful Grassroots Day. The young players in attendance got to see a packed Pirelli Stadium cheer on the Brewers."
Carter added: "Community is at the heart of everything we do here at Burton Albion, bringing more young people in to experience a matchday is a big part of that. We want to make sure the next generation of Brewers fans get as many opportunities to watch Albion as possible."
Next Grassroots Day and Contact
Burton Albion and Pirelli will host another Grassroots Day later this season. Grassroots teams wishing to receive details of future offers should contact Jodie Carter on jodie.carter@burtonalbionfc.co.uk.
